February at Jax Fish House: Authentic Mardi Gras celebration, Valentine’s Day specials

Jax celebrates Mardi Gras with NOLA-inspired dishes, Valentine’s Day with special dishes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Feb. 3, 2016) – Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar is celebrating Mardi Gras New Orleans-style with New Orleans-inspired dishes Feb. 9, 2016. The following weekend, Jax will offer Valentine’s Day specials Feb. 12-14 created by Chef de Cuisine Theresia Ota and desserts by Pastry Chef Kelly Conwell. Ota complements the already New Orleans-inspired cuisine on Jax’s regular menu with an appetizer and entrée special for Mardi Gras.

In addition to the regular menu, the Mardi Gras menu specials will be served starting at 4 p.m. on Feb. 9 and Valentine’s Day specials will be served Feb. 12-14. Happy hour will also start early at 2:30 p.m. on Valentine’s Day and 4 p.m. on all other days.

¼ lb. king, ½ lb. snow, three stone crab claws

Platter for Two- $125

Half lobster, ¼ lb. king crab, ½ lb. snow crab, ½ oz. hackleback caviar, 6 east coast oysters, ¼ pound peel and eat shrimp

During Mardi Gras and Valentine’s Day, Jax will also be in the midst of its Oyster Month. The week of February 9, Chef de Cuisine Theresia Ota will offer a Fried Oyster Biscuit and Gravy as her weekly oyster month special. Ten cents of every Emersum oyster shucked during the month of February will be donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).
