Brand 44 Announces Emilio Torres Joins the Company as Vice President of Business Development

DENVER (April 14, 2014) – Brand 44, a recreational company focused on “Backyard Adventures,” is pleased to announce the hire of Emilio Torres to lead business development and drive the company’s marketing efforts.

Torres brings 20 years of experience in the outdoors to the Brand 44 team. Prior to joining the team, Torres developed the comfort shoe category as an original employee of Croc’s. As the director of sales operations, he grew the brand into a global fixture as well as a publically traded company.  

Torres’ success at Croc’s is matched by his role as a key figure in developing the category and sport of slacklining across North America.  In 2012 he brought slacklining into the mainstream when he placed three slackers in Madonna’s MDNA World Tour and another, Andy Lewis, in her Super Bowl halftime show. In the fall of 2013 Torres partnered with Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson ONE to coordinate a record breaking highline walk above the Las Vegas Strip. This event was covered by a multitude of prominent media outlets including, Discovery Channel, Redbulletin and Citizen Pictures.

As Brand 44’s newest addition, Torres will be responsible for further promoting the sport of slacklining, leading business development and driving the company’s marketing efforts.
