Dog Tag Art™ Embarks on National Tour to ID Pets and Support Animal Rescues

Dog Tag Art travels across the country on a "To the Rescue, Superhero Tour," holding live events, engraving custom pet ID tags on-site, and donating tags to shelter and rescue programs across the country.

Dog Tag Art™, makers of custom pet ID tags, have announced they'll be hitting the road on a "To the Rescue, Superhero Tour," stopping at animal shelters across the country, with a mission to protect pets with proper identification tags, and support animal shelters in the process. The first stop on the tour will take place at Animal Friends in Pittsburgh, PA, on Thursday, May 22nd, with an event from 4-7pm. From there, the tour will include stops in and around Pennsylvania, Illinois, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, California, Oregon, and Washington

Jack Carrier, Dog Tag Art™ owner and founder, conceived of the "To the Rescue, Superhero Tour" as a fun way to bring awareness to the importance of IDing pets. It's reported that when a pet wears an ID tag, their chances of being returned increases from 30% to over 90%, and Dog Tag Art has a mission to "keep best friends together."

Another part of their mission is to support shelters, rescues, and animal organizations through their Tag Donation Program which launched in 2011. Since then, Dog Tag Art™ has donated 6,000 custom tags, a retail value of $78,000.

"With our To the Rescue, Superhero Tour, we have the chance to support the real superheros--the rescue animals--and to give back to the shelters that work so hard to give them a chance at a better life," said Carrier.

"We're also going to sponsor a special Super Rescue at every shelter we visit by taking care of their adoption fee," said Carrier.

As part of the tour, Carrier will travel across the United States in a custom-wrapped Sprinter van mid-May, which is National Pet Month, and host a series of live pop-up events at shelters along the way. At each stop, Dog Tag Art™ will partner with other animal-loving businesses to create fun family-friendly events, to ID pets, bring the community together, and shine a light on the Super Rescues for adoption.

Shelters, rescues, animal-loving partners, and vendors interested in hosting and joining the live Superhero events can submit their request online at https://www.dogtagart.com/totherescue, as well as watch a short video, and see the media kit about the tour.

The To the Rescue Superhero Events will feature:

  • Dog Tag Art™ designer engravable pet ID tags, made on site. A portion of sales will be donated directly to the shelter.

  • Superhero Photo Booth. Attendees can bring their pets for a superhero portrait session.

  • Meet the Super Rescues. Local shelters will highlight their superhero pets for adoption and Dog Tag Art will sponsor a rescue at every shelter they visit.

  • Dog Tag Art will donate free tags to any animals adopted during their events.

  • A batch of donated tags will be gifted to every shelter visited.

  • Local vendors, featuring animal-loving entertainers, and business partners, where possible, at each event.
