New York, NY August 12, 2014 – DigitasLBi, a global marketing and technology company, was named “Agency of the Year” at the Multicultural Advertising Intern Program’s (MAIP) Face Of Talent Luncheon in New York City for its continued leadership as a diversity advocate for the advertising industry. At the same event, DigitasLBi also presented the agency’s first-ever Multicultural Scholarship Award, a $5,000 grant to MAIP participant and college student Grace Abe.
MAIP is an American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A’s) Foundation talent-development initiative that aims to source, develop, and retain top diverse talent within the advertising and marketing industry.

Initiatives like MAIP Scholarship set the foundation of our Diversity and Inclusion Strategy under way across each of our offices,” said Tony Weisman, CEO, DigitasLBi North America. “We’re taking actions to change the industry landscape by developing and nurturing a diverse and inclusive culture, and hiring inclusive-minded talent.”
MAIP Agency of the Year Award was established to recognize an agency who has made significant contributions to MAIP and its alumni. Over the past year, DigitasLBi has hosted multiple MAIP program events across the agency’s North American offices, partnered with the MAIP alumni network, and volunteered screening and interviewing resources for internship candidates.
This latest award comes off the heels of The Advertising Club of New York recognizing DigitasLBi with their inaugural Action Award that recognizes champions who honor and advocate diversity and inclusion in the industry.
DigitasLBi Multicultural Scholarship Award
The DigitasLBi Multicultural Scholarship Award was established to assist talented diverse students with college tuition who are seeking future careers in the advertising and marketing field. This scholarship is funded by DigitasLBi and administered by the 4A’s. The DigitasLBi Multicultural Scholarship Award is an extension of DigitasLBi’s continued support of the MAIP and the 4A’s Foundation.
DigitasLBi formed a cross-office and cross-capability committee to evaluate applicants based on their written application responses, resumes, grade point averages, and overall interest in marketing.
Abe is a Brown University English major with a 3.8 GPA. She is currently an art-direction intern at Saatchi & Saatchi New York, her fourth industry internship since 2012. During the school year, Abe works closely with Brown University’s Science Center and Student Agencies, leading various marketing, animated, and graphic projects.

Since its inception in 1973, MAIP has become the industry’s largest program of its kind.
