La Sportiva, makers of the world’s finest mountain products, is poised for yet another year of significant growth and has expanded its staff to support it. Prompted by a sharp spike in Mountain Running® footwear sales, the brand attributes overall business health to the introduction of new categories such as climbing apparel and ski hard goods. La Sportiva, therefore, has made several recent changes in the marketing, events, and customer service teams to support the brand’s continued double-digit growth. The moves are highlighted by the promotion of Jonathan Degenhardt to marketing director.
“JD has continually performed above expectations and we’re delighted to have him leading our marketing team,” says Jonathan Lantz, president of La Sportiva North America. “Each year, we grow our core footwear business and continue to make strong gains in our new categories. In order to provide the best support and service to our customers, this growth requires that we invest in our most important asset, our people, and we’re proud to do it.”
Additional staff changes include Everett Russell being promoted to the events and promotions manager. With four years of service at La Sportiva, Everett will take the reins of the brand’s extensive athlete, ambassador and events program. Quinn Carrasco was also promoted from customer service department to join the marketing team as the field marketing coordinator and is responsible for activating the brand’s grassroots presence at numerous consumer-facing events. Jenna Gann was recruited from the advertising field to join the brand as digital advertising and content manager. Finally, Tara Reed is now customer service supervisor and Lael Grant has accepted a position as customer service representative after working in the La Sportiva warehouse.
All changes are effectively immediately and have been made to help La Sportiva head into the winter of 2014-2015 fully staffed.
