Glenwood Springs is Home Base for Music and Concerts throughout the Roaring Fork Valley

If you like music, Glenwood Springs is where you want to be this summer. An abundance of lodging and dining choices makes the Colorado mountain town the ideal place to stay for music lovers. Nearly every day of the week there are open-to-the-public concerts either in Glenwood Springs or nearby! Spend the day rafting, soaking in the Glenwood Hot Springs Pool or exploring at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. As the day winds down, head to some of the Valley’s most spectacular outdoor venues for an evening of musical entertainment. Here’s the run-down of free concerts in or near Glenwood Springs.

Wednesday -
Glenwood Springs Summer of Music. Sponsored by the Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts, the series runs through July 30. Concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. at the band shell in Two Rivers Park. Pack a picnic dinner (no glass please) or pick up something to eat from one of the event vendors. The lineup is always entertaining and eclectic.

Thursday - Snowmass Music. Presented on Fanny Hill on Snowmass Mountain, concerts begin at 6:15 p.m. Shows feature an array of musical genres including Latin, blues, zydeco, soul, reggae, funk and country.

Friday - Carbondale First Fridays. Carbondale closes downtown to traffic and lets the party tumble out onto Main Street. The monthly celebration of the arts, shopping, dining and music takes place on the first Friday of each month.

Saturday - Music on the Mountain. Atop Iron Mountain at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, enjoy summer evenings filled with music, drink specials and a free tram ride up and down the mountain in exchange for a canned food donation to benefit the LIFT-UP food pantry. The next concert is August 9, and with the exception of August 30, there’s music every Saturday through September 20; concerts begin at 6 p.m.

Sunday - Aspen Music Festival. The Aspen Music Festival and School is America's premier classical music festival, presenting a unique combination of top professionals and student musicians. Sit on the lawn outside the Benedict Music Tent and listen as some of the world’s most promising classical musicians perform. Concerts begin at 4 p.m.
