Silverline Center, a “one of a kind” office building in Tysons, VA, will illuminate with special blue lights beginning on April 1 to ring in Autism Awareness Month and World Autism Day. The blue lighting scheme will continue through April 3 in support of Autism Speaks’ annual global Light It Up Blue (LIUB) campaign on Saturday, April 2.

Silverline Center joins a list of more than 10,000 iconic landmarks, businesses, communities and homes in 136 countries on all seven continents that will shine a bright light on autism. The Empire State Building in New York City, Niagara Falls in Canada, the Sydney Opera House in Australia, the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy, and even the International Space Station have joined Autism Speaks in support of the millions of families affected by autism.

“We are pleased to join this international campaign to raise awareness of this growing challenge for families struggling with autism,” said Anthony Chang, Vice President at Washington REIT. “We encourage people in the area to take photos of the building and share them on social media using the hashtag #LIUB.”

The 531,000 square foot Silverline Center, located at 7900 Westpark Drive, attracts more than a million views per week from the nearby Washington Beltway and two Metro stations. Following an extensive façade and interior redevelopment, the building is now 94 percent leased to Capital One and other prestigious tenants.

Silverline Center’s signature tower has a gleaming glass curtain wall façade incorporating 270 LED lights that can be programmed to match the corporate colors of the building’s lead tenants, providing iconic branding opportunities. Consistent with other world landmarks, Silverline Center lights up the Tysons skyline with sparkling dynamic light shows to commemorate major holidays; on March 17, the building glowed green for St. Patrick’s Day.

Silverline Center is located within easy walking distance of the Tysons Corner Metro station in the heart of northern Virginia’s most dynamic and rapidly growing economic center. The building offers rapid access to the Westpark and Jones Branch express lanes. Winner of two recent NAIOP building awards, Silverline Center offers a wide variety of amenities including a conference center, fitness center, onsite day care, coffee shop, and white tablecloth restaurant.

Throughout the month of April, residents of the Washington, DC metropolitan area can support their neighbors and friends by participating in Light It Up Blue. Visit for fun and creative ways to shine a bright light on autism.
