GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., March 13, 2014 – Universal Forest Products, Inc. is proud to announce that its decking and railing brand, Latitudes, has extended warranty coverage on the removal and replacement of defective product for the first five (5) years of the product warranty. This extension is valid as long as all products were installed according to the Latitudes Decking and Railing installation instructions.

This new installation warranty is an addition to the existing 25-year structural and 25-year stain and fade warranties. These now make the Latitudes Decking and Railing warranty package one of the strongest warranty programs in the industry.

“Our labor warranty makes a big statement about the trust we place in the quality of our products. With this addition, we have one of the industry’s leading warranties for composite decking,” said Chris Camfferman, Universal Forest Products senior product manager. “No one else offers a 25-year warranty for structural, and stain and fade, with the addition of a 5-year labor warranty.”

Latitudes provides low-maintenance natural-looking composite decking and railing in a variety of finishes, colors, design options and accessories that combine durability and strength at an appealing price point. What makes Latitudes special is Strandex® technology. Because each "strand" of wood fiber is encased in high-density polyethylene, Latitudes with Strandex resists the effects of weather and decay in every climate.
