This award recognizes Aman as an exceptional health care professional.

Colorado Health Care Stars is a statewide health care professional award recognition program sponsored by American Sentinel University and CHA. The program was launched in February 2015 to acknowledge clinical professionals in Colorado who exceed expectations in the delivery of health care.

In addition to serving as the director of quality and safety at Parker Adventist Hospital, Aman is deeply engaged in supporting the development of clinical leaders through coaching, mentoring, and providing in-services and education. Aman specifically works to reduce hospital-acquired conditions and infections, educates on the qualities of high-reliability organizations and the improvement of quality and patient safety.

“Shari is passionate about her role as the director of quality and safety at Parker Adventist Hospital,” says Patricia Givens, VP Patient Care Services/CNO at Parker Adventist Hospital. “Her strong commitment and passion for ensuring that all patients receive safe, timely, effective, personalized and equitable care helped her champion our Magnet journey and created an environment that is conducive to achieving optimum patient care.”

Givens adds that Aman is a professional colleague who is trusted and respected by all members of the hospital’s nursing team.

“Shari is seen as a role model and expert in patient safety, quality, and clinical care. We attribute her strong leadership for marked improvements in evidence-based care (composite score), patient safety metrics and the care experience. It’s truly a privilege to work with Shari and honor her as the May Colorado Health Care Star,” says Givens.

“Nurse managers have a legal and moral obligation to ensure a high standard of patient care and to strive to improve care,” says Chris Wolfe, Director of Program Strategy and Alliances at American Sentinel University. “We are proud to recognize Shari Aman for her passion and commitment to quality of care and patient safety, and for her leadership in the hospital’s Magnet journey.  Her contributions have helped to ensure an environment of optimum patient care for members of our community and fellow health care professionals.”
