The Oldham Family and the 130 mustangs they have taken under their wing invite you to the grand opening of the third wild horse sanctuary in the nation and the only one on an Indian reservation: The Wind River Wild Horse Sanctuary.
The June 4 grand opening festivities will include the opportunity to visit the mustangs and the educational visitors center, as well as some special events for kids and adults alike. Board a horse-drawn wagon to visit the mustangs that made their way to the sanctuary and learn their story. Read about the story of wild horses in early North America—particularly among Native Americans. Learn about the partnership between the Oldham family ranch and the Bureau of Land Management to create this home for un-adoptable mustangs. The free grand opening will launch at 11 a.m. and run until 2 p.m.
The event is free to the public before regular hours and admission rates set in. The Wind River Wild Horse Sanctuary is located seven miles north of Lander at 8616 Hwy. 287. Call the Wind River Wild Horse Sanctuary for more information at (307)-438-3838 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Tours will be available all summer long June 6 through Sept. 5. Regular sanctuary hours will be Monday through Friday 10–6 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
