Team registration is now open for Spin For Kids, Camp Twin Lakes’ annual, premier cycling event that raises money to provide life-changing camp experiences for children with serious illnesses, disabilities, and other life challenges. Families, businesses, faith-based organizations, civic organizations, and groups of friends are encouraged to build and register teams for this exciting event.
Taking place on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, at Camp Twin Lakes-Rutledge in Rutledge, GA, Spin For Kids is a fully-supported road bike ride that winds through the rolling hills of beautiful Morgan County. Participants of all skill levels can choose from five scenic road routes: 5, 27, 47, 62 or 100 miles. Each route is supported from start to finish with fully-stocked rest stops, first aid, route marshals, and bike technicians. For riders with young children, Day Camp is available for kids while participants complete their route. This family-friendly event accommodates everyone, from expert cyclists to those just getting started.
“Last year, Spin For Kids raised $430,000,” says Eric Robbins, Executive Director of Camp Twin Lakes. “That money enabled us to send 537 children to our camps. These children got to experience the joys of camp and childhood in a supportive environment which helped them to increase their level of confidence and grow in their capabilities. At Spin for Kids, every rider is riding for a greater purpose. ”
As riders return to Camp Twin Lakes, participants are invited to join in camp festivities including delicious food, beer, live entertainment and a chance to explore Camp.
