SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (June 23, 2016) — Petzl this week unveiled its new line of fall protection lanyards and harnesses at the 2016 American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) conference and tradeshow.
“Petzl is proud to be applying our expertise in developing state-of-the-art fall protection equipment. Our goal has always been to create lightweight but durable equipment that is comfortable and efficient to use on challenging at-height work sites” said Michel Goulet, Professional Division Manager at Petzl.
The new ANSI-rated ABSORBICA-Y is a twin-leg lanyard with a captive eye carabiner and two MGO connectors that provide continuous protection when passing intermediate anchor points. The compact, low profile and integrated energy absorber revels in its ability to absorb energy in stages. The calibrated webbing will tear progressively as force levels rise during a fall, offering a more gradual deceleration for users of different weights.
The NEWTON EASYFIT harness also joins Petzl’s ANSI and CSA rated product family with an easy to don, lightweight and comfortable construction. The harness epitomizes functionality with an integrated vest and quick-connect buckles. The releasable lanyard connector loops positioned on the shoulders facilitate carrying a Y-Lanyard while minimizing the risk of using it incorrectly.
The ABSORBICA-Y and NEWTON EASYFIT cost $299.95 and $229.95, respectively, and are available now. Both are certified to North American, European and Russian standards. For more information, please visit www.petzl.com.
