SUGGESTED TWEET: Celebrate 20 years of #VTFreshNet #VTFood partnerships at the #VFNForum on August 7th

For one spectacular evening on the shores of Lake Champlain, celebrate with the farmers, chefs and food artisans that make Vermont a delicious place to live.

The Vermont Fresh Network will celebrate 20 years of unique and delicious partnerships between Vermont's culinary and agricultural crème de la crème at their Annual Forum Dinner on August 7th. For one special evening, farmers and chefs from all across Vermont come together to prepare a sensational grazing dinner on the shores of Lake Champlain at the historic Coach Barn at Shelburne Farms. It is a fundraiser for the Vermont Fresh Network -- all proceeds go to continuing programming that helps bring more Vermont grown and raised food to the table. Tickets are now available.

“The Forum has grown tremendously over the past 20 years, but it has always been the premiere celebration of Vermont food. This event is where the best chefs and food artisans in the state come together to celebrate their farm partners and guests get to meet, talk and taste their way through the evening.” Shared Meghan Sheradin, Executive Director of the Vermont Fresh Network. Meghan has worked with the Network for 13 years and been at its helm for 10.

To celebrate VFN’s 20th Anniversary, the Forum will open with a number of speakers that represent the diversity and reach of the Vermont Fresh Network. Jolinda LaClair, Deputy Secretary of the Agency of Agriculture will start things off; followed by Lyndon Virkler, Dean of Faculty at New England Culinary Institute; Allison Hooper, founder of Vermont Creamery; and Jordan Ware, Executive Chef at Hen of the Wood Waterbury and Burlington. Complimentary cider – hard and sweet - will be available from Citizen Cider and passed hors d'oeuvres provided by Vermont First at Sodexo during the opening.

The Vermont Fresh Network would like to thank all the partner, board and community members, past and present, who have grown the Network into what it is today. A special thank you to our current Board of Directors - President Scott Woolsey, Manager of Killdeer Farm in Norwich; Treasurer Sean Buchanan, President of Black River Produce in Springfield; Secretary Lisa Gosselin of the Addison Independent in Middlebury; Jed Davis of the Farmhouse Restaurant Group in Burlington; and Scott Emerson, Executive Chef at Okemo Mountain Resort in Ludlow for their work and commitment to making our 20th year strong and successful.

The Vermont Fresh Network Forum is generously supported by Affiliate Partners: Black River Produce; Dinse, Knapp & McAndrew; Farrell Distributing; and Foley Services as well as Gold Sponsors: Addison County Independent; Citizen Cider; Image Tek Labels; Shelburne Farms; Timbers Restaurant at Sugarbush Resort; Vermont First - Sodexo; Vermont Public Radio; Vermont Tent Company; and Zero Gravity Craft Brewery.
