Myrna Loy Tucker, dear wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, passed away Saturday, July 16th, 2016, at the age of 82 years old. Funeral services are to be held on Friday, July 22th, 9am for visitation, 10am for services, at the LDS church on 6th and Cascade Street, Lander, Wyoming. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Myrna was a 55-year resident of Lander, Wyoming, and sang as a soloist in the LDS church choir for many years, her wonderful voice well known among the congregation there.
Myrna was born on June 16th, 1934, in the small town of Mount Pleasant, Utah, and was raised in the house her parents built, well cared for in spite of the shadow of the Great Depression on the community. Upon graduation, Myrna left her hometown with $40 in her pocket and a new watch, and headed for Salt Lake City, where she found a job as a receptionist for a diesel company. She was a lovely vocalist, and organized choirs and a trio who toured as amateurs for the local area. Myrna wed Owen Hilden Tucker March 20th, 1953, at the Manti Temple.
They lived together in Orem until 1962 when they moved to Lander for work. Myrna loved the great outdoors, as well as journaling, singing, quilting, ceramics, reading, camping, puzzling, needlework, crosswords, and was known to all of her extended family to be a ferocious competitor with board games.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Pearl Peterson, and Hilden, Lola, and Roma Tucker.
She is survived by her husband, Owen Tucker, and her children, Tim, Kelly, Seth, and Amy, as well as her many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
