ALSO JOINS PAOLO SORRENTINO'S UPCOMING HBO SERIES 'THE YOUNG POPE'
Los Angeles, CA (March 25, 2016) – Actress DELAINA MITCHELL (Inherent Vice, Scandal) will guest star in an all-new episode of FOX’s crime-solving drama, ROSEWOOD, schedule to air on April 13th. Mitchell also joins the list of international talent on board for director Paolo Sorrentino’s new HBO series, THE YOUNG POPE.
ROSEWOOD stars Morris Chestnut as Dr. Beaumont Rosewood Jr., a brilliant pathologist who teams up with Miami Police Detective Annalise Villa (Jaina Lee Ortiz) to uncover clues no one else sees. On April 13th, Mitchell steps into the action as Mia Barnes, a confident but sensitive bohemian in love with a man who shares a secret with Rosewood.
Coming soon, Mitchell will appear in a recurring role on the highly-anticipated HBO series, THE YOUNG POPE, from Italian filmmaker Paolo Sorrentino, director of the Academy Award-winning The Great Beauty. The series revolves around the controversial beginnings of a fictional American pope, played by Jude Law, who becomes the most conservative Pontiff the Vatican has ever seen. The cast also includes Diane Keaton, Silvio Orlando, Scott Shepherd, Cécile de France, Javier Cámara, Ludivine Sagnier, Toni Bertorelli and James Cromwell. The project is co-produced by U.K. broadcaster Sky and French pay-TV channel Canal+.
This season, Mitchell has been gaining legions of fans for her recurring role as the savvy Reporter Leslie on ABC’s wildly-popular drama, Scandal; and for guest starring on Criminal Minds as Eileen Woods, a mother who takes revenge on her daughter’s kidnapper. Previously, this talented actress was touted as “uproarious” for her portrayal of Mrs. Chastity Bjornson, the tyrannical wife of ‘Bigfoot’ Bjornson (Josh Brolin), in Paul Thomas Anderson’s mystery comedy-drama, Inherent Vice. She has also gained industry attention for her role as Rachel, assistant to David Aames (Tom Cruise) in Cameron Crowe’s, Vanilla Sky; and for numerous television appearances, including guest starring roles on The Middle, The Defenders, No Ordinary Family, My Own Worst Enemy, NYPD Blue, E.R., Strong Medicine and a recurring role on Comedy Central’s Stripmall among others.
Originally from Huntington Beach, CA, Mitchell’s interest in the performing arts began at an early age. She studied mime, acting, dance and was a competitive synchronized swimmer. Dancing to the beat of her own drum, as a young adult Mitchell performed across the country, juggling and dancing on stilts as a member of “Girls on Stilts”. Continuing to hone her craft, over the years Mitchell has lived, worked and studied in Los Angeles, New York and Sydney, Australia.
