Plymouth and Brockton Street Railway Co. (P&B) will soon be starting up a new route which will have selected stops from Plymouth, MA on the way to Providence, RI.The bus route will be an excellent implementation for commuters, tourists, and people living in rural areas who need to get to urbanized locations.The new stops will include stops in Plymouth, Middleboro, Taunton, Somerset, Providence, among others. P&B also has plans to link up with the Peter Pan bus of Providence to allow P&B riders to extend their trips to NeYork City. P&B is looking to provide more transportation services and expand its customer base.
This company has been a leader in transportation since 1888, and recently celebrated its 125th anniversary last year. P&B entered Cape Cod in 1961 with routes that originated in Sagamore and went to Barnstable. This route extended to Chatham in 1978 when the Almeida Bus Lines shut down. In 1988, P&B bought the entire route system from Cape Cod Bus Lines and extended their services to Provincetown. The Anzuoni family purchased P&B in 1948, and since then have added to the company’s success and growth. They have always striven to make this family-oriented institution one that is dedicated to its customers and the community through excellent service.
