Professional Diversity Network Hosts “Strategies for Diversity” Summit in Washington, DC

Government leaders to discuss Executive Order 13583 progress and best practices

Who/What:        Professional Diversity Network, Inc. and The National Press Club to host a diversity roundtable to discuss Executive Order (EO) 13583 and its progress to date.

Why:                        Issued by President Barack Obama three years ago, Executive Order (EO) 13583 was intended to establish a       coordinated government-wide initiative to promote diversity and inclusion in the Federal workforce. 

Joe Watson, diversity expert and author of “Where The Jobs Are Now,” will moderate a panel discussion featuring diversity leaders from various government agencies.  Participants include:

·       LaJuana D. Caldwell, director of operations, FDA University

·       George Coffey, deputy assistant secretary for diversity and inclusion, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs

·       Barbara Spotts, diversity and inclusion program manager, office of diversity and equal opportunity, NASA

·       Veronica Villalobos, director, office of diversity and inclusion, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).
