At a press event last week in Gothenburg, Sweden, Volvo Penta unveiled a variety of innovative and long-anticipated products aimed at making the boating experience easier and more enjoyable. By focusing on features that are desired, demanded and consistent with the way that consumers use products, Volvo Penta continues to fulfill the philosophy of Easy Boating.
“Our vision of Easy Boating is built on a proven track record of innovation and integration. Volvo’s leadership with integrated power systems – whether in marine, trucks or the construction industry – is key to optimizing the system performance, fuel efficiency and improving the customer experience. From helm to prop, we’re responsible for the propulsion system to ensure it works seamlessly, giving customers an experience similar to today’s vehicles. We will continue to invest in innovation so that Easy Boating becomes the way of life on the water,” said Ron Huibers, president of Volvo Penta of the Americas
Expanded Range of IPS
The addition of Volvo Penta’s new D8-IPS700 and D8-IPS800 into this revolutionary lineup further expands the range and extends the benefits of IPS to an even greater variety of boats.
Introduction of D8
With the release of its new D8 engine, available for both IPS and inboard shaft applications, Volvo Penta can now offer an even broader selection of power systems for the leisure market.
Availability of pioneering Joystick for Inboards
First introduced in 2006, the Volvo Penta joystick for leisure boating is now available for twin inboard shaft applications and offers superior maneuverability.
Battery Management Solution + e-Key Remote
With the e-Key Remote, a feature of Volvo Penta’s new Battery Management Solution, unlocking and starting a boat is now a lot like starting a car. The solution also includes a number of other innovative features for improving safety, uptime and security.
“Introduction of the Volvo Penta D8 and D8-IPS700 and 800 engines fills a key niche in our marine leisure line up. This exceptional package provides state-of-the-art fuel efficiency, classic Volvo Penta high torque at low RPMs and remarkably low NVH to power boats in the 45-55 foot range. Our customers throughout North and South America are anxiously awaiting shipment of these superior products,” Marcia Kull, vice president of marine sales for Volvo Penta of the Americas
