Fresh, seasonal ingredients featured in Jax Fish House’s new summer dishes

Chef de Cuisine Theresia Ota and her culinary team add 10 new summer items to the menu

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (July 29, 2016) – Jax Fish House and Oyster Bar added 10 new summer dishes to the menu that focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients. Locally sourced heirloom tomatoes from Nevada, Missouri and Taku River Sockeye sourced from Sea to Table, a sustainable seafood wholesaler, are just a few of the summer ingredients Chef de Cuisine Theresia Ota included in her new mid-summer creations. Topping off the new dishes is Jax Pastry Chef Kelly Conwell’s Peaches and Waffle Sundae, made with fresh Missouri peaches.

Jax’s mid-summer menu can now be enjoyed on its newly opened patio, as well as throughout the restaurant.


New Summer Menu Items


Steamed Mussels
Roasted tomato and chorizo or green curry, corn and cherry tomato 

Chilled Corn Bisque
Blue crab, tarragon and chile 

Jax Summer Greens
Watermelon, cucumber, feta, harissa pistachios, chickpeas, herb vinaigrette

Local Tomato Caprese
Heirloom tomatoes, mozzarella and balsamic pearls, basil, saba, goddess vinaigrette

Ahi Tuna Nicoise
Grilled beans, heirloom tomatoes, black olive, crispy potatoes, salsa verde aioli 

Taku River Sockeye
Grilled watermelon, soba, mint, avocado, peanuts, fish caramel 

Hand Cut Sirloin
Cheesey corn tot, creamed kale, brown sugar Worcestershire vinaigrette, crispy shallots

Shrimp and Corn Papperdelle
Prosciutto, heirloom tomatoes, tarragon, grilled corn, grana frisco 

Grilled Beans
Salsa verde aioli and crispy shallots 

Peaches & Waffle Sundae
Sweet corn ice cream, blue corn waffle, caramel corn, fresh peaches
