Red Rock Resort announces Sandbar Summer Concert Series at outdoor poolside venue


LAS VEGAS – March 10, 2014Red Rock Resort is proud to announce the Sandbar Summer Concert Series will return to the Sandbar poolside venue. The outdoor concert series welcomes the summer with performances by The Goo Goo Dolls, Daughtry, Lifehouse, KANSAS and more.

With a remarkable concert lineup and the opportunity to dip your toes into one of the most spectacular pools in the Las Vegas valley, the Sandbar Summer Concert Series offers a live music experience unlike any other. The full Sandbar Summer Concert Series schedule includes:

Saturday, May 3 – Lifehouse
Comprised of vocalist Jason Wade, drummer Rick Woolstenhulme, Jr., bassist Bryce Soderberg and lead guitarist Ben Carey, Lifehouse came to mainstream prominence with the 2001 hit single “Hanging By a Moment” from their debut studio album No Name Face. The single climbed to the top of the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart and peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The band’s success continued with their albums Stanley Climbfall, Lifehouse, Who We Are, Smoke and Mirrors and Almeria. These albums have spawned the singles “You and Me,” “First Time” and “Whatever It Takes.” To date, the band has sold more than 15 million singles and albums worldwide.

Saturday, May 17 – KANSAS
Celebrating their 40th year as a band, KANSAS’ first public statement appeared on their self-titled album in 1974. This “garage band” from Topeka was discovered by Wally Gold and has since produced eight gold albums, three sextuple-platinum albums (Leftoverture, Point of Know Return, and Best of KANSAS), one platinum live album (Two for the Show) and the gold-certified singles, “Dust in the Wind” and “Carry On My Wayward Son.” KANSAS appeared on the Billboard charts for more than 200 weeks throughout the 1970s and 1980s and played to sold-out arenas and stadiums throughout the world.

Friday, August 1 – The Goo Goo Dolls, Daughtry and Plain White T’s
With more than two decades, nine albums, including the multi-platinum A Boy Named Goo and Dizzy Up the Girl, and an expansive catalog of hit songs and more than 10 million records sold, The Goo Goo Dolls have established themselves as one of the most successful rock bands in the world. Hit singles include top-five hits “Name,” “Slide,” “Better Days” and “Give A Little” and the Grammy nominated “Black Balloon” and “Iris,” the latter of which was ranked number one on Billboard’s “Top 100 Pop Songs 1992-2012” chart. The band’s latest album Magnetic was released in 2013 and quickly climbed to number eight on the Billboard 200 chart.

In less than four years, multi-platinum band Daughtry has scored four number-one hits, garnered four Grammy nominations, won four American Music Awards, sold more than seven million albums and played to sold-out concerts around the world. Daughtry’s eponymous debut album was the fastest-selling rock debut in Soundscan history and its follow up Leave This Town marked the quintet’s second consecutive number-one album. The band’s third studio album Break The Spell was certified gold in four weeks and featured the hit singles “Start of Something Good,” “Outta My Head” and “Crawling Back to You.” The band’s latest album Baptized was released in late 2013 and featured the single “Waiting For Superman,” which climbed to number 11 on the Billboard Adult Top 40 chart.

Formed in Chicago in the late 1990s, Plain White T’s has released seven studio albums, including their debut Come On Over, 2005’s All That We Needed and the gold-certified Every Second Counts, which featured the number-one h it single “Hey There Delilah,” which achieved platinum certification and earned two Grammy nominations. The band’s success continued with the platinum-certified singles “1,2,3,4” and “Rhythm of Love.” The band’s forthcoming album America Nights is set for an early-2014 release.
