LeRon Ellis was always an outstanding athlete. He was one of the premier basketball players in the entire nation while still in high school, where he played at schools in Portland, Oregon, and Los Angeles, California. He was also a standout at water polo and track and field, where his best event was the triple jump.
His best years as a high school basketball player came at Mater Dei High School in Los Angeles. LeRon Ellis showed dominant offensive and defensive abilities on the court, had excellent shot blocking skills, and was known for being a quick and agile center. The Mater Dei Monarchs posted a record of 30-1 during the 1985-86 season and ran up a 59-game winning streak. Their spectacular season was followed by a tournament title in March 1986, making the Monarchs back to back champions. LeRon Ellis scored a career-high 30 points in the tournament, was named the tournament's MVP and was chosen by the Los Angeles Times as its high school Player of the Week.
LeRon Ellis moved on to an outstanding collegiate basketball career. He was a highly sought-after recruit and he weighed serious offers from many schools before finally deciding on the University of Kentucky. He was known as a smooth-shooting center and power forward with outstanding defensive skills. He played two seasons at UK before moving on to Syracuse University, another Division I school. After two years there, LeRon Ellis was good enough to be taken in the first round of the NBA draft by the Los Angeles Clippers. He went on to play for the Charlotte Hornets and the Miami Heat, and also to play overseas.
Since his playing days came to an end, LeRon Ellis has served as a Sales Representative and Senior Advisor at Vector Marketing, where he distinguished himself by exceeding annual sales quotas by an average of twenty-five percent and ranking in the top two percent of the company's sales force. LeRon Ellis also consistently achieved a customer satisfaction ranking of an astonishing 99.9 percent.
LeRon Ellis has also been an Enroller at Kaiser Permanente, where he coordinated open enrollment at new member meetings with account managers and high-level clientele. He also worked closely with marketing managers and executed marketing initiatives. LeRon Ellis has also been a Quality Assurance tester at Activision/Volt in Santa Monica, California, where he identified issues for developers and wrote bug reports.
At present, LeRon Ellis is employed at Split Second Sound, where he is a Technical DJ and MC for private parties, weddings, and other events.
