Stock the Bock!

Fans flood to stores across northeast to find Genesee Bock Beer

Rochester, NY – Genny Bock is back! And beer drinkers are stocking up in record numbers.

Although Genesee Bock Beer has been around for nearly 70 years, over the last decade, an intense cult-like following has grown among beer drinkers. Consumers have gone to the extreme. They’ve set up Facebook pages with hundreds of fans who are dedicated to locating Genny Bock at the best price; searched across state lines to find the iconic green packaging, and have even gone as far as to buy a year’s supply of bock beer in a single purchase.

People are crazy for Genny Bock, and they aren’t afraid to tell the story of how they got a great beer for such a great value. How dedicated are these loyal enthusiasts? One fan stocked the back of his pickup truck with dozens of cases to ensure he wouldn’t run out. Another fan built a throne of cases that’s fit for a king. Even more excitement has been shared on Untappd, Twitter, and around Genesee’s old-school YouTube video.

“Every single year we hear hundreds of stories about how much people enjoy our Genny Bock Beer,” said Genesee Brewery brand manager Janine Schoos. “Our fans really appreciate the quality and attention we put into our brewing tradition.”

Genesee Bock Beer is available in select markets on tap and in grocery and convenience stores. Look for the iconic green packaging featuring a billy goat on 12-pack cans and 6-pack bottles before they’re gone.

About Genesee Bock Beer

Genesee Bock Beer is carefully crafted following a 16th century German tradition; Artisan brewers would patiently age a malty brew over a long winter with the arrival of the bock heralding the end of the cold, snowy season. The result is an exceptionally hearty, full-flavored beer with a slightly malty finish, delivering 5.2 ABV and 10 on the IBU scale. Meaning “goat” in German, “bock” beer regularly uses the animal as a visual pun for the limited-edition brew.
