TAYLOR TRADE PUBLISHING TO PUBLISH CHILDREN'S BOOK, "DAN THE BIGGEST DUMP TRUCK"

LOS ANGELES, May 12, 2014 – Taylor Trade Publishing of the Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group has purchased the United States publishing rights to the children’s book "Dan The Biggest Dump Truck" from Brisbane, Australian-based author Chris Adams and Southern California artist and author/illustrator Ruthie Briggs-Greenberg. The book was narrated by world-renowned actor and Academy-Award nominee Hugh Jackman and all book advances and royalties in perpetuity will go to Global Poverty Project and World Vision to fund their programming to help children live better lives.

New media pioneer Chris Adams is CEO of Melbourne, Australia-based Spondo Media (www.spondo.com), a revolutionary online video streaming technology company. In addition, Adams helped to build Academy-Award-winning production company, Participant Media, with founder and past eBay president, Jeff Skoll. Adams has also worked at Amazon, Facebook and Comcast Cable & Interactive. Adams has a MA from USC’s School of Film and TV and completed his MFA from USC’s School of Professional Writing after earning an undergraduate degree at the University of Denver. Adams is a published children’s author of “Sam The Biggest Fire Truck” and “Cowboys & Aliens: The Kids,” both of which are available as Apps on iTunes.

Ruthie Briggs-Greenberg, a Southern California artist, painter, creator, sculptor and author and illustrator of Taylor Trade Publishing’s “Felicity The Dragon” (to be released in Fall 2015), were introduced by Briggs-Greenberg’s husband, who went to the University of Denver with Adams. Briggs-Greenberg has been working for over fifteen years selling artwork to various companies and charities including the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, the Sunstone Vineyard and Winery in Santa Ynez, California, Branche Apparel, Southern California charity Amigos Sin Barrios/Friends Without Barriers, the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) and the Southern California Paddleboard Association and to entertainment industry executives at MGM and Paramount Pictures. Briggs-Greenberg is currently getting her Masters in Fine Arts (MFA) from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California. In addition, her work has appeared in various television series and movies including ABC TV’s “Dark Blue” and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment’s “Dylan Dog: Dead of Night”. Her work has been showcased in numerous Southern California exhibitions including California 101 in Redondo Beach, CA and Buenaventura Art Association in Ventura, CA and has been carried at Gallery 104 in San Clemente, California. Briggs-Greenberg is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

Internationally recognized, Academy Award-nominee, Tony Award-winning and Emmy Award-winning actor, Hugh Jackman, was brought into the project after Adams and Jackman became friendly while on the Global Advisory Board for the Global Poverty Project (GPP). Jackman was interested in focusing attention to and bringing on-going funding to GPP and to  World Vision Australia, where Jackman and his wife, Deborah Lee-Furness, are ambassadors and long-term supporters.

The book project grew out of a bedtime story which Adams made up for his son, Cooper, several years ago.

Dan The Biggest Dump Truck” is a book about believing in yourself and finding where you fit in the world,” said Adams. “We are delighted to join the Taylor Trade children’s book family and are thrilled that Taylor Trade believes in the book and the unique opportunity to help children in need around the world for years to come.”

“This is an opportunity for children to help children,” said Briggs-Greenberg. “Children want to make a difference in their communities and in the world and by purchasing this book, they can.”

The Taylor Trade Publishing program consists of an award-winning list of books on children’s titles, house and home, entertainment, family issues, gardening, health, history, sports, nature and field guides. While many of Taylor Trade’s titles are of general interest, Taylor books also have a strong regional presence from the Mississippi west to California, and from Texas north to the Canada border.  Taylor's sports books take you behind the scenes and into the lore of the teams we love to love, from the Packers to the Yankees.

The deal was sourced and negotiated by Melissa McComas and Tsunami Worldwide Media. Tsunami Worldwide Media’s clients include New York Times best-selling authors Steve Alten (“MEG” Series) and George D. Shuman (“18 Seconds”), Herbie J. Pilato (”Twitch Upon A Star: The Bewitched Life & Career of Elizabeth Montgomery”), Peter Mark Richman and Briggs-Greenberg (“Felicity The Dragon”), among others. Tsunami Worldwide Media represents and positions authors as brands in publishing and entertainment around the world.

Taylor Trade Publishing will release “Dan The Biggest Dump Truck” written by Chris Adams, illustrated by Ruthie Briggs-Greenberg and narrated by Hugh Jackman in hardcover, audio, e-book and enhanced e-book in April 2015 in the United States. International rights are available.
