July 16, 2015 (Salt Lake City, Utah) – Following the award-winning success of last year’s update to the Baltoro and Deva overnight packs, Gregory is focusing on daypacks, active trail packs, as well as commuter and travel bags for Spring 2016.
“Gregory has a lot of positive energy in the market right now and we doubled down on our product development for next season to ensure we keep the momentum going,” says John Sears, director of product development at Gregory. “We’re really excited to introduce a new ventilated suspension technology to daypacks called Freespan, along with major updates across our line.”
The Freespan suspension, designed specifically to bring Gregory’s legendary comfort and fit to a wide variety of body types, can be found in the new Salvo and Sula day packs. Using an aluminum leaf spring for lumbar support, the Freespan provides total flow-through ventilation while still maximizing interior volume. Available in a variety of sizes, including 18L, 24L, and 28L, the Salvo and Sula provide an option for every type of adventure, from travel in foreign cities to summit bids on technical routes. The men’s Salvo and the women’s Sula range in price from $99 to $129.
The CrossFlo DTS technology has also been updated in the Zulu and Jade packs. The Zulu ranges in size from 30L to 65L, with the two largest models being true backpacking packs, with a sleeping bag compartment on the bottom, top-loading capabilities, and a full-body U-zip for easy access. The full size run features a stretch front pocket, enclosed hip pockets, compression straps, and an integrated raincover. The women’s Jade will come in sizes between 28L and 63L with prices between $139 and $219.
Gregory’s Miwok and Maya, the popular active trail bags, retain most of their core features, including a front-loaded helmet pocket, trekking pole attachment points, and a wide hipbelt with enclosed pockets, but they also feature an upgrade to their Biosync ATS suspension. By combining flexible tendons with a pliable frame, Biosync mimics and complements the body’s natural movements to maintain load position and comfort. Sizes will range from 6L to 34L for men and 5L to 32L for women, with prices from $69 to $139 for both.
Gregory’s youth backpacking line, the Wander, has also expanded to now include a 38L pack. The 38L will feature the Wander’s Versafit suspension, which provides completely adjustable hipbelts and torsos, allowing for a precision fit even as young backpackers grow.
The award-winning Border series of commuter and travel packs has been overhauled as well. Both the 25L and the 35L versions are TSA compatible so that a laptop does not need to be removed while going through security. Multiple, beefy grab handles and a robustly padded laptop sleeve go along with its efficient clamshell opening, to make the Border ready for the rough-and-tumble of frequent travel. Prices are, $149 and $169 for the 25L and the 35L respectively.
The full line of Gregory’s Spring 2016 products will be on display at the 2015 OR Sumer Market at Gregory booth #6027 in the Salt Palace Convention Center. To make a media appointment, please contact Cory Lowe at email@example.com.
