“Geology Hike to Jade Lake, Absaroka Mountains”
Fifth program in the Wind River Visitors Council Adventure Trek Series be ready to leave the Dubois Museum August 1, at 9am.
The Dubois Museum staff will lead a hike to Jade Lake. This hike is moderately strenuous, at over 9,000 feet to a beautiful high mountain lake. We should be back to the museum around 3pm. Bring lunch, plenty of water, and dress for hiking in mountain terrain and weather. We also recommend that you bring insect repellent, sun screen and bear spray. NO PETS ALLOWED!
This program is the fifth in the Wind River Visitors Council Trek Series at the museum. This series will feature educational opportunities on the area’s culture and history at all three county museums throughout the summer and fall.
The next activity will be Trapping the Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep, August 15. This event is sponsored by the McDonald’s Children’s Exploration Series at the Dubois Museum.
