Floridians Get Their Eat On During a Chicken Wing Battle Presented by SabrosoSauce.com

Fort Lauderdale, Florida

On Father's Day, June 21, 2015, chicken wing eaters from adults to kids battled it out for 3 rounds of wings consumption at Midtown Commerce Center. At stake, bragging rights as SabrosoSauce.com King or Queen of Wings and a cash prize.

When it was all said and done, a local comedian from Miami, Arthur Kool aka Uncle Pervis, was crowned King of the Father's Day Wing Sauce Battle and took home the Grand Prize, $75, a T-shirt, and a bottle of Celebrity Chef DP's signature product; SabrosoSauce. A young man known as "Marcus," took home the youth prize.

Fields, who competed in costume and character as the hilarious Uncle Pervis, beat out 15 other competitors by eating nearly 15 wings dipped in SabrosoSauce, picking all the meat from the bones. The Youth winner ate 8 wings and received $25 in cash and prizes.

"I'm not sure if Arthur Kool aka Uncle Pervis knew it was a competition, said Chef DP.  He seemed to really enjoy those wings dipped in our delicious SabrosoSauce. After the clock stopped he looked like he could have gone another round," chuckled Chef DP.

The SabrosoSauce.com Wings & Sauce Battle at Midtown Commerce Center is the the third stop on a 13 city tour.  The event was held earlier this year at Scratch DJ Academy in Wynwood and at the Caribbean Marketplace in Miami.

In celebration of Father's day, fathers & daughters, fathers & sons, & mentors & mentees, went head to head in a contest to determine how many wings they could consume in three  2 minute rounds.  The fun-filled event also included fun and games for youth, face painting, and live entertainment.

Among the sponsors of the event were Chef DPLana's KitchenScratch DJ Academy, Badazz Foundation 501c3, Gush Films and She Got Game Media.

The SabrosoSauce Wing & Sauce Battle was presented by Miami's Celebrity Chef Darryl Johnson aka Chef DP and SabrosoSauce.com.
