Join the Annie T. Doe Memorial Foundation, North Carolina's philanthropic and professional sectors and supporters for the 3rd Annual "Charity Celebration Gala" onSeptember 13, 2014, at the Embassy Suites in Concord, North Carolina from 7:00pm - Midnight. Tickets are available at www.atdoemf.org
The Gala will serve as a night of purpose to celebrate history in the making during an evening filled with memorable experiences and captivating performances including a three course meal, classical opera and mime dance. Guests will also meet the first 75 underprivileged enrolled students throughout the night and hear their stories of power and hope.
During the evening, guests will also be educated on the Foundation's Ebola Awareness Campaign. The Foundation strongly recognizes the need to proactively educate communities in Bassa County and the surrounding areas on ways to prevent the spread of the virus while reducing fear and misconceptions about it. By helping to raise awareness of the risk factors for Ebola infection and the protective measures individuals and communities can take to reduce infection and death, the Annie T. Doe Memorial Foundation's Ebola Awareness Campaign will shine light on what Ebola is, how is it transmitted, ways to recognize the signs and symptoms of the disease, what measures and precautions can help to avoid exposure and how to deal with suspected cases of Ebola.
The Annie T. Doe Memorial Foundation is committed to its mission to empower today's generation for a better tomorrow through securing aids, goods and services to provide free primary education, economic and empowerment programs and basic health care services to under-privileged, under-served and marginalized communities. Enrollment of school-age children in most parts of Liberia is negligible and less than half of Liberian children are going to primary school. With the mission of educating about 200 disadvantaged Liberian kids annually, the Annie T. Doe Memorial Academy celebrates opening its doors in the upcoming school year, January of 2015.
