Coconut Creek , FL – Presented by Delray Beach business owners, Gregory and Mary Ann Fried of Gregory’s Fine Jewelry owners, An Afternoon with Keaton Simons raised over $12,000 for the 75 boys and girls living in the Coconut Creek village. “SOS is near and dear to our hearts”, says Mary Ann Fried. “Through therapy, tutoring, life skills classes, support services and a safe and stable home, SOS helps the children begin a road of healing and recovery and empowers them for the future,” she adds.
The culmination of this private event was the balloon release by the SOS children and some of the attendees. All were asked to make a wish for the children before releasing their balloons into the sky. “It is incredibly important that we remember that these children have dreams and hopes like any other child. These are children who have been hurt and we must encourage as much support for them as possible from our community,” said Gregory Fried.
Over 120 people enjoyed the beautiful weather lounging by the pool of Michael and Wendy Schatzberg of Delray Beach enjoying Simon’s compelling and soul-baring songs. Neill Saffer of Saffer Benefit Auctions auctioned off Miami Heat tickets, a one week stay at Grand Isle Resort Villa in Exuma, Bahamas, Morgan Pressel autographed golf bag and clubs, and several Gregory’s Fine Jewelry items. Also on hand were vendors Buddahful and Jen Hanley Handbags who donated the day’s proceeds to SOS.
