WILEY X®-SPONSORED DRIVER JOEY LOGANO WINS AT KANSAS SPEEDWAY, BECOMES DRIVER TO BEAT FOR CHASE FOR THE SPRINT CUP CHAMPIONSHIP

Victory at Notorious Track Gives Young Star a Guaranteed Spot in Upcoming Eliminator Round of Sprint Cup "Playoff" Races

Just how hot is Wiley X® sponsored NASCAR driver Joey Logano right now? That’s a question that might not be fully answered until the dust has settled and a final Chase for the Sprint Cup champion has been crowned for 2014. But for now, it will have to suffice to say that he’s pretty hot — and making a strong case for himself as the driver other racers will have to beat if they want the crown.

The 24-year old racing phenomenon took another huge step towards NASCAR’s ultimate accomplishment, winning the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway on Sunday, October 5.  The victory — Logano’s career-best fifth of the season — earned him an automatic berth in the third round of the Chase For the Sprint Cup championship. With the win, Logano can breath a little easier over the next two upcoming Contender Round races taking place at Charlotte and Talladega.    After Talladega, the remaining qualifiers will move on to the Eliminator Round, a three-race run-off that will narrow the field to four drivers leading up to an eventual winner-takes-all finale at Homestead Miami Speedway.

Logano has earned his enviable position by dominating the competition over recent weeks.  In the first four races of these Sprint Cup Series “playoffs,” Logano has won twice and earned two fourth-place finishes.

“Joey has really taken his performance to a new level, and we’re all thrilled to be along for the ride,” said Wiley X
Co-Founder Myles Freeman, Jr.  “He’s driving like a true champion, and everybody at Wiley X will be cheering him on as he moves onto the next exciting round.   The competition is going to get tougher and tougher as the field gets tighter, but we know Joey will be ready for the challenge,” added Freeman.

Fellow NASCAR Sprint Cup championship contender Carl Edwards, also sponsored by Wiley X, finished fifth at Kansas and is also in solid shape after the first race of the Contender Round.
