Heads to Southeast Asia for International Debut: 

Breast Cancer Survivor Returns to Malaysia to Premier Film at Fundraising Gala


Los Angeles, CA – October 26, 2015 – TunnelVizion Entertainment, Inc. and Cheryl Ash-Simpson announced todaythe award winning documentary Sunshine, Noodles And Me will makes its international debut on November 14, 2015 during Ash-Simpson’s Benefit For a Cure…Under The Stars in Nusajaya, Malaysia at the Bale Equestrian and Country Club at Leisure Farm Resort at 6 pm.


Sunshine, Noodles and Me is the heartwarming story of Ash-Simpson’s journey to recovery and move to Southeast Asia after discovering she had breast cancer just three days before her wedding. Benefit for the Cure…Under the Stars is a fundraising gala Ash-Simpson created to raise awareness for cancer of all kinds not just breast cancer. Proceeds will be used to help cancer patients in Malaysia.


“Last year’s event funds were used to assist cancer patients in the United States,” said Ash-Simpson. “This year we want our friends in Malaysia to not only see the final film product, but give back to a community that has been so loving and generous to us.”


Sunshine, Noodles and Me chronicles Ash-Simpson’s treatment, loss of her hair, and her new lease on life in a country, far, far away. The documentary was shot on location in Malaysia, Singapore, Indianapolis and Dallas. 


Co-Directed by Joyce Fitzpatrick and Brian Shackelford, Sunshine, Noodles and Me was awarded first place “Documentary Feature” at the 3rd annual Capital City Black Film Festival and received the“Documentaries Bronze Award” at the 8th annual Kingdomwood Christian Film Festival.


Awesome, elated, humbled, and honored are just a few words Executive Producer Ash-Simpson uses to describe winning the awards at each festival where there are always several outstanding documentaries.“Each award win validates the relevance and impact of the subject matter on people’s lives,” she said.





"I decided to tell my story to let everyone know that you can overcome breast cancer or any adversity and continue to thrive and enjoy life. Don't give up! It's not over until it's over,” she exclaims. "No matter what you've gone through, what you've done, you can come out on the other side smiling."

About the Production Team of Sunshine, Noodles and Me
Sunshine, Noodle and Me is co-directed and co-produced by Joyce Fitzpatrick and Brian Shackelford of TunnelVizion Entertainment. The producing and directing duo have collaborated on a variety projects, including several TV pilots, web series, and documentaries. Their web series, “Identity Confirmed,” won third place in the mobile challenge of producing a three-minute film shot with a mobile device. It was also an official selection in the 2014 SoCal Film Festival. Also, their mockumentary, “Animal Control,” nabbed the Golden Kahuna Award from the 2012 Honolulu Film Festival, and showcased as a Programmer’s Choice selection at the 2012 Hollywood Black Film Festival (HBFF).
