PACE launches the second offering of Digital Brand Management Certificate, starting Jan. 26!

Corvallis, Ore. - Professional and Continuing Education at Oregon State University (PACE) announces the second offering of its popular Digital Brand Management Certificate program on Jan.26.

“OSU's Digital Brand Management program is of exceptional quality,” said Rachel Freeman, Online Marketing Manager at Jive Software and course instructor. “The curriculum is up to date,  which can be quite difficult in an industry that is constantly evolving, and the instructors are typically industry veterans that have a breadth of experience and are providing high quality individual feedback with students as they progress throughout the course.”

Throughout the program, participants have the opportunity to meat and learn from leading digital marketers for companies like Nike, Adidas and Weiden + Kennedy. PACE diligently selects leading digital marketers to be instructors and matches their marketing expertise with course content to ensure participants have the best educational experiences possible.

“We are very excited about offering a second round of the Digital Brand Management program,” said Chris LaBelle, director of PACE. “It allows OSU to act as a catalyst for the sharing of knowledge and experiences between experts in the field and new marketers.”

The program is comprised of four courses that teach best practices in digital brand and reputation management, content creation, search marketing, social media and mobile marketing.

“The program is a great way to develop foundational skills that help round out any career. Whether you are a marketer, an entrepreneur, a developer or still a student, these digital marketing skills are applicable on so many levels and in a variety of environments,” Freeman said.

In OSU’s Digital Brand Management program, participants apply concepts from the courses to real world situations through live case studies. Professional and Continuing Education partners with local businesses and nonprofits seeking marketing services, providing students with real clients in real time, and creating a mutually beneficial relationship.

“I believe the real world application of the curriculum makes this program unique,” Freeman said. “This structure facilitates the process of putting concepts into practice and encourages students to provide realistic and actionable solutions because they are invested in the client’s success.”

Greenbelt Land Trust, a nonprofit organization that focuses on land conservation and restoration was the case study client for the Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing course.

“This program enabled us to meet our goals at Greenbelt Land Trust,” said Greenbelt’s Development Director, Jessica McDonald. “We didn’t really have a marketing plan, a digital branding plan, a search engine optimization plan, all things we really need in order to deliver our product to our community.”

After successfully completing all four courses, participants receive a certificate and digital badge to display on social media and resumes.

“I am very excited about receiving my digital badge, as it not only feels like an accomplishment, but it also provides a symbol which I can proudly display on my website, social sites, and marketing materials,” course participant Deian Moore said.  “I’m an OSU graduate with a degree in art, and having a digital badge from OSU is an additional accreditation I can share with everyone.”

Moore earned her digital badge in December and said she has already recommended the program to family and friends.

“I hope that OSU PACE will offer an advanced, or more in-depth study of one or more of these courses in the future,” Moore said.
