We at CRB Tech came across on the views of an ex Microsoft employee Bill Crounse over the necessities that should be addressed in health-care centers.
When there are many concerns to be addressed. But he shared his top 3thoughts:
1.Emphasis should be laid on improving and modernizing communication and collaboration in clinical work flow as on the electronic health record. Health-care is about communication and healthy cooperation since most medical errors happen when there is a break in communication. Yet, compared to other industries, health care is lagging behind in the use of contemporary mobile solutions to address many needs of communication and collaborations. There are amazing solutions available that are widely in use in other industries to manage synchronous and asynchronous communication using text, voice, video, and web conferencing technologies across all devices. There are many cloud-based solutions to help migrate your old PBX infrastructure to a cloud services model. Its high time to be modern as all opportunities are existing, so reasoning out would sound as excuses.
2. The health Care systems should include digital natives and patients or consumers in their planning departments and board room discussions. He said in many such discussions he realized that patients and consumers are seldom at the table. The future health-care delivery systems are being imagined by people who knows what they know, and often by people who have little experience with digital technologies. He emphasized the inclusion of some tech-savvy twenty or thirty-aged people on the committees as there is much to learn from the young generations.
3. Crounse put importance on the usage of the cloud system. He said that Information technology isn’t a core competency of hospitals or healthcare delivery systems, nor can it be. the core competency is patient care. Mind blowing IT projects and solutions that are not core to the business involving patient care can be directed to initiatives that truly will change the quality of care and will transform patient care and experience. He added that since what can’t be measured can’t be improved so heath-care centers should start investing in machine learning ,advanced analytics, machine vision, and artificial intelligence technologies. It would help the health-care organisations in future that will depend on these capabilities. Lots of money is being spent on an EHR and loads of raw data are being captured; so something relevant and useful have to be done. Crounse expressed his opinion that he would strongly recommend the health care systems to push hard on their EHR/HIS vendors(s) to properly certify their systems and solutions on today’s newest operating system platform.
He emphasized that these modern day OS platforms offer superior privacy, compliance, security and management capabilities for your enterprise, but they also provide a far better user experience for the clinicians and employees across all device types.
