The great musical news for 2015 is the launch of EastMania first album in March 2015.
EastMania is the new project from guitarist Kamal Musallam featuring legendary jazz drummer Billy Cobham, bringing together a group of the world’s top musicians who are all stars in their own right. Creating a unique and innovative musical experience, EastMania is a synergy of Middle Eastern, Oriental, and Western music brought together in a Jazz-Rock Fusion setting, reminiscent of the great Jazz Fusion groups of the 1970’s, such as the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Frank Zappa, Al Di Meola, The Yellow Jackets, Billy Cobham's Spectrum, Jean-Luc Ponty and Miles Davis.
EastMania transports and merges musical cultures and traditions of the East and the West through the one universal language of music. A true musical meltdown, performed by prominent artists from both sides of the planet, EastMania expresses each artist’s musical traditions and passions, daring to test new grounds and new musical ideas never before explored.
Aiming at bridging cultures, EastMania focuses on East, Middle and Near East musics while fusing with Western music. Kamal Musallam, leader and founder of EastMania, wants to outline the traditions of the East that are disappearing giving these spotlight through this platform.
