Fremont County, WY - Wyoming's western tradition still flourishes in Wyoming’s Wind River Country, an easy half-day's drive from Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. Almost every week there's a special event that brings old western movies back to life including wild-west rodeos every week throughout the summer. There is no better place to see the toughness of Wind River Country’s modern cowboys and cowgirls in action than at a rodeo.
Kids will love the quaint western town of Dubois' Friday night rodeo series at the Clarence Allison Memorial Arena. Every Friday evening in mid-June through Labor Day you can see the excitement of Bullriding, Bronc riding on bucking horses, Team Roping, Barrel Racing, Calf Roping, and a whole lot more starting at 7:30 p.m.
We dare you not to laugh watching the entertaining Mutton Busting (where kids hang on for dear life while trying to ride sheep), Pee-Wee Bullriding, and Mini Bullriding. You just can't find this stuff anywhere else!
For a complete change of pace, watch the unique Ultimate Miniature Bullriding, Fremont County Youth Rodeos, old fashion buggy-style chariot horse races, and Indian Rodeo and Relay races.
