FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 4, 2015 (Foothill Ranch, Calif.) Following in the footsteps of the groundbreaking 695g Ultralight EVO, premier Spanish bicycle manufacturer BH Bikes is pleased to announce the addition of two additional models within the Ultralight family. Dropping the EVO appellation and dubbed simply “Ultralight”, BH's mid-season lightweight climbing release is available immediately with Shimano Dura Ace and Ultegra mechanical builds.
Long known for producing frames offering superior handling and balance, BH raises the bar with the 2015 Ultralight. Boasting pro tour level weights and refined cornering and descending manners, the new models also feature price tags that won’t force riders to consider a second mortgage.
“What goes up, must come down,” offers National Sales and Brand Manager Gene DiMenna, “With its sub-700 gram weight and no rider weight limit, the EVO sets the standard for what is possible in design, materials and production, but most importantly, in practical application; it's a delight to ride. Our new (non-EVO) Ultralight offers similar category topping performance and weight, but at more modest price.”
“We borrowed liberally from design, engineering and manufacturing advancements gained during the EVO project,” continues DiMenna, “but back in Vitoria (BH’s headquarters in Spain’s Basque region) and here in the US, there’s an immense amount of pride in delivering near-EVO level performance in a more affordable package.”
Weighing in at a slim 840 grams, the new Ultralight utilizes a slightly different carbon layup schedule than it’s sibling, but shares the same molds and geometry. It also shares many other prominent EVO features including; patented Hollow Core Injection Molded (HCIM) construction, internal cable routing, BB 386 and tapered head tube.
