2015 competition - "Climate: a state of emergency" - Until April 30th, 2015
Under the patronage of Yann Arthus Bertrand, the Fondation Alliance Française in Paris has launched its 2014/2015 photography contest edition.The competition is held worldwide. This year theme is 'Climate: a state of emergency'. Candidates are asked to submit their work about climate change and global warming, climate evolution in itself or in people's perception of it, the effects on people’s life and the solutions taken by their home states or fellow citizens in order to change the course of events.

- Deadline for sending photos: April 30th, 2015.
The local Judge Panel will select a winner early May. The UAE based winner's artworks will then be sent for the final competition in Paris.
Alliance Française Foundation in Paris shall select 40 works through its worldwide Judge Panels. The Collective exhibition « Climate: a state of emergency » will be showcased in Paris at the fall of 2015. This exhibition in Paris will then 'travel' worldwide within the Alliance Francaise network. A catalog of the exhibition will be printed.
The prize for the winner is a trip to Paris with a one-week stay in the French capital.

In 2011, the theme of the competition was « Planète femme ». Two photos from a UAE participant were selected by Paris Judge Panel and were part of the winning photos.

Brian Kerrigan - Photo Editor - The National - Having taken up an interest in photography from a very young age Brian Kerrigan has forged a long and diverse career in the field both as a photographer and photo editor. Originally from Canada's east cost he spent time on staff with The Canadian Press, National Post and Globe and Mail before moving to the UAE to help launch The National where he has spent the last 7 years leading the photo department.
Hind Mezaina - Photographer and Writer - Blogger - Hind Mezaina is a photographer and writer from Dubai. Her blog theculturist.com covers cultural news, events, reviews in the UAE and beyond - with an emphasis on film, music, photography and travel. Hind’s photography has been exhibited in several local and international group exhibitions, and her writing has been featured in local and regional publications including The National, Harper’s Bazaar Art
Alliance Française Dubai is a non-profit organization that keeps aiming “To be the French Institute and the French Cultural hub of choice in Dubai for learning the French language, and for the promotion of French & Francophone cultures in a thriving environment.”
Alliance Française Dubai is extremely active on the cultural scene of the UAE. They promote visual and performing arts not only for French and Francophone artists but especially for other artists of various nationalities.
