How to help students select right stream after their schooling (2nd PU)

It has been quite common among students to get confused in matters such as choosing a correct stream or subject to study after completing their higher secondary and pre-university education. The biggest problem most students face in choosing a stream boils down to many underlying issues related to future prospects such as job availability, interesting work culture, respect in the society, approval of family, money and stability, and many others. So, students that have not made up their mind about a certain degree to pursue or certain fields to enroll in for the future benefit they might have, then it is important if they researched more. It is always a bigger challenge to get recommendations from an education consultant as the probable solutions only appear to be temporary and turn out to be futile in a long term, thus making this point clear that it should always be a student's choice what to do and how to go further in higher studies. Therefore, one has to see every option available by putting a little effort in research and think over, and discuss with family to come to a final conclusion as to what would be a better and suitable course to study according to one's interests and passions.

The word Career is interpreted, understood, and used in so many ways by different people that more than the objective the misinterpretation is what worries intelligent people. For example- careers are completely different from jobs. Most people have jobs, very few have careers. Jobs are what most people do everyday as an employee, and career on a broader definition is what one considers as an achievement at any point in time of one's life with regards to one's inimitable and excellent work, contribution and creation to any field in this world. In today's competitive world where one's financial superiority play an important role in having a societal status they deserve, it has made the young generation to be more complex and mercurial. The focus of many students unfortunately lay primarily on getting higher pay-packages, living in global cities, working in top MNCs and not on the more important aspects of working that is creativity, innovation, out-of-the-box and progressive thinking, entrepreneurship, and unmatchable zeal to gain more knowledge irrespective of what the end result is and where that is achieved. If only journey mattered more than reaching the destination, then success comes automatically without fail as the efforts will be recognized and rewarded.

For students that have passed out from various fields; be it commerce, arts or science and engineering, the dilemma is usually not in the colleges one gets admitted to because of the strict faculty and stringent rules, the exams they write, the university the college is affiliated to or the whole duration of the course and process of graduating with a degree, but it is most of the times about what kind of jobs one will get after the completion of a certain course. So, to make the process of choosing the right and appropriate stream to follow, see the options below mentioned in order to be clearer which stream offers which courses and what are the prospective opportunities the course might open up at the end.
