Urbana KC: a downtown street scene featuring Quixotic performances, festival food, yoga and more surprises, August 3

Relax and refresh in the Power & Light District neighborhood with drink creations from downtown restaurants, live music and more every first Wednesday during summer, 6 – 10 p.m.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (July 27, 2016) Urbana KC is a new downtown street scene happening each first Wednesday of the month, all summer. The next event will take place on Wednesday, August 3 with a “relax and refresh” theme. Guests will be able to eat and drink under the stars, hear live music, see public art displays and share a unique Kansas City summer experience, all in the heart of the Power & Light District neighborhood.

Event Details

On August 3 from 6 – 10 p.m., guests will enjoy pop-up performances throughout the entire evening by Quixotic, fun festival food and drink creations from downtown restaurants, lawn games, live music from Barnaby Bright, yoga classes and more. The event is located on 14th Street between Main and Walnut. Urbana KC will also have a beer bar which will sell Boulevard and Leinenkugel cans, as well as standard domestic beers. Lawn games will include jenga, cornhole, shishkaball, ladder golf and connect four.

Yoga Sessions

There will be two 30 minute yoga sessions with Rebecca Ryan (who also works at OneLife Fitness in the Power & Light District). The first yoga session will be a candle yoga set beginning at 8:30 p.m. and ending at 9:00 p.m. The second session will begin at 9:30 p.m. and end at 10:00 p.m. Both yoga sets will take place on the west side of the Elements courtyard, near Main Street.
