June 1, 2016—Milwaukee, WI—ACTIVE COMMERCE announces the successful e-commerce implementation for their client Elma Electronic, a global manufacturer of electronic enclosures and embedded systems for industrial and defense systems. Elma uses Active Commerce to enhance their customer experiences across digital channels, increase sales, and support e-commerce expansion into new geographic markets.
Elma’s standard products lend themselves well to online purchasing, yet they were being manually processed via phone-based interactions. Recognizing the need for a easier way to get pricing and then products into customers’ hands and wanting to deliver a better B2B ordering experience, Elma turned to Active Commerce, enabling the development and launch of the company’s streamlined B2B e-commerce solution.
Specifically, Elma uses Active Commerce to provide easier access to product order information and pricing for existing customers, to generate new customer leads for field sales and drastically simplify the new account approval and registration process. Their online store now gives customers access to upfront pricing with customer and unit specific price breaks, quick order and PO capability. Working closely with AC to update their systems, Elma was able to simplify back-end operations and offer increased visibility into the sales lifecycle. In doing so, the company has improved customer experiences and laid the groundwork for further growth and additional functionality.
“Five years ago, no one believed we could sell our products online,” said Boris Micha, Sr. Director Product Management & Marketing for Elma. “We’ve exceeded our initial sales goals and plan to expand our e-commerce strategy into other product lines as well as reach global customers. We’re thrilled to have partnered with Active Commerce; they’ve been critical to our commerce journey, enabling our company to take our customer experience to the next level.”
Since the deployment of their e-commerce solution, Elma has experienced the following results:
· 30% increase in customer leads
· 100% increase in time people spend on website
· 100% increase in number of pages visited
“Elma Electronic’s business customers have similar purchasing needs to many consumers today. They are not only researching but shopping online and expect the businesses they interact with to make it easy for them,” said Eric Allen, President, Active Commerce. “We look forward to continuing this relationship with Elma, supporting the expansion of their robust e-commerce solution, driving increased sales and enabling the best possible experience for their online customers.”
