Cultural Arts Festival Attendees Prepare To Break Guinness World Record

FRESNO, CALIF:  Mexican folklorico dancers across California will be rehearsing to participate in an attempt to break a Guinness World Record for the “Largest Mexican Folk Dance.”  The attempt will take place at the Danzantes Unidos Festival on April 13 at Clovis West High School at 12 p.m.  At least 458 dancers are needed to participate to break the current record set in Guadalajara, Mexico in September 2011.  Danzantes Unidos Festival, an annual three-day festival hosted by Danzantes Unidos de California, celebrates the Mexican culture through folk dance and music.

Rehearsals will be taking place throughout California in March and April and videos are available on the Danzantes Unidos website for Mexican folk dancers to learn the routine.  For more information on how to become involved with or sponsor the Guinness World Record attempt, visit or email
