SANTA ANA, CA: Irvine Barclay Theatre representatives and art enthusiasts gathered at a reception held at John Wayne Airport (JWA) on Sunday, March 15, 2015, to celebrate the unveiling of JWA's newest art exhibition, the Irvine Barclay Theatre's Wit, Style, Power, Grace. In commemoration of the Irvine Barclay Theatre's 25th anniversary, the exhibit is now on display at John Wayne Airport in the ORANGECOUNTY: Destination Art & Culture exhibition space, located pre-security along the pedestrian walkway connecting Terminal B and C. The general public, passengers and visitors can view the exhibit at the Airport through November 27, 2015.
"JWA welcomes the Irvine Barclay Theatre to this unique exhibit space that allows us to connect Orange County's non-profit art and cultural organizations with the millions of passengers and visitors who travel through our facility each year," said Acting Airport Director Lawrence G. Serafini.
Entitled Wit, Style, Power, Grace, the exhibition, curated by Henry Korn, explores the artistic and cultural diversity of Orange County through the lens of events presented at Irvine Barclay Theatre over its history. Douglas C. Rankin, the Barclay's president, commented, "The programming at the Barclay has always taken into consideration two imperatives - finding the best artistic talent, and reflecting the growing cultural diversity of the area where we live. We are proud to have introduced young talented artists to Southern California who now have noteworthy national careers. And the Theatre has attained its own national reputation as a leader in developing culturally relevant programs that are unique to Southern California. We hope that airport visitors will enjoy the exhibit, and perhaps, pay us a visit at the theatre as well."
