Platteville, Wis., January 21, 2014 – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville and its Distance Learning Center (www.GoUWP.com) has signed three credit agreements to award credit for credentials earned from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Human Resource Certification Institute. SHRM, a professional human resource association, is the largest association in its field with 250,000 members. SHRM promotes the role of human resource as a profession and provides education, certification, and networking opportunities.
The agreements allow students to receive elective credits in the University’ s Master’s of Science in Organizational Change Leadership program. The Professional in Human Resource (PHR) provides eligibility for three credits, while the Senior Professional in Human Resource (SPHR) and the Global Professional in Human Resource (GPHR) provide eligibility for six credits.
“We believe professional credentials should bring new opportunities,” said Dawn Drake, executive director of UW-Platteville’s Alternative Delivery Systems. “In today’s business world, these experiences offer significant learning outcomes.”
UW-Platteville, a pioneer in distance education, provides eight degrees entirely online: master’s degrees in organizational change leadership, project management, criminal justice, engineering, distance educational leadership and integrated supply chain management along with bachelor’s degrees in business administration and criminal justice.
