On April 29, the Family Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association will host the 2nd Annual “Brews for Tunes,” a beer tasting event to benefit the Atlanta Music Project (AMP), an after-school program that serves Atlanta’s underserved and at-risk children with the opportunity to learn about and perform music. The event will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 from 6-9 p.m. at Monday Night Brewing, 670 Trabert Avenue NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30318.
After last year’s successful event raised more than $5,000, Hannibal Heredia and J. Ashley Sawyer of Atlanta law firm Hedgepeth, Heredia & Rieder volunteered to return as co-chairs. Each $50 ticket ($40 if purchased in advance) includes samplings of various Monday Night brews (wine available for non-beer drinkers), food pairings, brewery tour, and live music from Atlanta’s own Motown band, R&B, Inc.
AMP provides each student with an instrument, weekly lessons, world-class teaching artists, and numerous performance opportunities. Parents pay for lessons on a sliding scale, according to their ability. As most parents pay only a small fraction of the actual cost of the program, AMP relies heavily on private donations for funding.
“The philosophy of AMP is that musical training creates more confident, resilient children, better students, stronger neighborhoods, and a better world,” explains co-chair J. Ashley Sawyer. “Children enrolled in AMP have improved test scores, elevated reading comprehension, and better graduation rates among their peers. Supporting AMP through ‘Brews for Tunes’ is a great way to make a lasting and positive impact in the life of a child.”
Each ticket purchase or sponsorship of "Brews for Tunes” will help guarantee that the Atlanta Music Project can continue to provide a safe after-school environment for Atlanta’s underserved and at-risk children. Companies can participate in Brews for Tunes by attending the event and/or being a sponsor. The sponsorship levels are as follows:
Pint Glass: $250 donation, 1 ticket included. Firm recognition includes display board at event, in the Atlanta Music Project Newsletter, and in Brews for Tunes e-mail blasts
6-Pack: $500 donation, 2 tickets included. Firm recognition: same as above plus the ABA Family Law Section Newsletter
Case: $750 donation, 3 tickets included. Firm recognition: same as above plus the Family Law Review
