Free Festival Unites Fiber Arts Vendors and Artists October 4 in Riverton, Wyoming.

Riverton, WY - Fiber arts enthusiasts will get a chance to shop and learn about new crafts during a free event October 4, in Riverton.

Fiber Fest, sponsored by the Fremont Fiber Arts Guild, will include classes, door prizes, homemade refreshments and vendors from around the state, including Wyoming Wool Works of Dubois. The educational event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Heritage Hall at the Fremont County Fairgrounds, 1010 Fairground Road.

Guild members will give 20-minute demonstrations throughout the day on knitting, cinch making, twining, crocheting and spinning (both on the wheel and with a drop spindle). The instructors will demonstrate technique and explain each craft and the materials it requires. Longer classes may be offered in the main hall during the day, depending on visitor interest.

Visitors also can bring their problematic projects to the guild's "doctor is in" booth where members will help troubleshoot issues ranging from tricky patterns to confusing techniques.
