In his previous career as a funeral director, Schlinsky developed a deep understanding of what is truly important in people’s lives and the lives of their families. He also learned just how crucial it was for them to have the ability to live their later years with the independence they had worked so hard to achieve. He found that he was able to parlay his understanding of what’s important to families, their needs, concerns and the issues that matter most in their lives into his financial practice.

Basing his multi-faceted practice upon educating clients and customizing strategies based on conservative, fixed income products, he is fond of another expression that he heard some years ago: “The success of what you are currently doing is based upon the foundation which immediately precedes it.”

He is dedicated to helping clients have the freedom to live the lifestyle they desire as they enter and live their retirement years. As many found out during the financial crisis of 2008, the market can take away in one month what has taken them years to save! Schlinsky believes that twenty first century asset protection calls for more than just strategic asset allocation. In his view, diversifying retirement assets among a variety of vehicles – both through insurance products and investments, depending on his clients’ personal financial situation and needs – offers the best chance of meeting their retirement income goals.

Schlinsky, the proud father of three adult sons, equates the strong foundation of education he has given them to the approach he brings to his clients.  As an advisor who specializes in retirement planning for the modern age, to bring the greatest value to his clients, he has affiliated with prominent national companies like J.D. He can trace his lifelong desire to help people and be actively involved in serving the community to his upbringing by his father, a rabbi, and mother, a teacher. He has always sought out ways to achieve that in his personal and professional lives. Ultimately, he felt that the best way was to take a leap of faith with Safe & Secure Financial in 2012. The move turned out to be a great success. In addition to building a diverse, nationwide clientele, he has appeared on “NBC Nightly News” and has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, & USA Today as well as other publications regarding his opinions on financial matters and retirement strategies.   

Everything became more personal for him after a brain hemorrhage in early 2007, at the age of 47. That night in the hospital, he assured his wife Lori Beth the life insurance he had would be there to protect her financially. Years later, that priceless moment translates to Schlinsky’s need to ensure that his clients are as well prepared as he was for an unexpected health crisis.
