Returning students to Casper College this fall may notice a change in traffic following the recent removal of the stoplight located at the intersection of Casper Mountain Road and the entrance to Casper College by the theater and arts buildings. The city conducted a traffic study and removed the light, deeming it unnecessary. The light has been replaced by a stop sign exiting from the college, while the traffic on Casper Mountain road does not have a stop sign. This was part of a large traffic study conducted this past spring in order to optimize traffic flow. Over two dozen traffic signals around town were identified as unnecessary, while others have been adjusted to operate more smoothly.
