Schenectady Applebee's "Calling" For Sports Fans and Collectors

SCHENECTADY, NY –Celebrity photos, sports items, and local memorabilia are among dozens of items that customers can bid on at the Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar in Schenectady, NY. Now through Sunday, February 3 at 8 p.m., as the restaurant prepares for its upcoming remodel, items that currently adorn the restaurant’s walls will be up for auction. All proceeds will benefit the Make-a-Wish Northeast New York.

“Since we began remodeling our restaurants, we’ve had hundreds of patrons come in and purchase memorabilia that pay homage to their favorite stars and local teams,” said Stephanie Griffin, director of marketing and public relations, T.L. Cannon Companies. “We want to give customers in the Schenectady market an opportunity to join the fun and take advantage of some unique shopping, all while benefitting a deserving organization.”

All bids must be made through the Applebee’s restaurant manager on-duty by 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 3, and items must be paid for in cash. Customers can pick up purchased items during business hours starting Monday, February 4 until Wednesday, February 6.

“The funds raised through this auction will help grant wishes for children in our community,” said William C. Trigg, III, Chief Executive Officer of Make-a-Wish Northeast New York. “There are lots of great items available at the auction and we hope people will bring their friends and family out to enjoy a meal with loved ones and support Make-A-Wish.”

The silent auction will take place at the Schenectady, NY Applebee’s restaurant located on 2400 Cambridge Rd., Schenectady, NY 12304. For more information, please call (518) 346-4455.

The restaurant will be closed on Monday, February 11 and Tuesday, Tuesday, February 12 while the final touches are added to the new look, re-opening at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13. Once complete, the restaurant interior will include customized wall murals that reflect the neighborhood including local schools, sports teams and community organizations. The refreshed restaurant will also feature state-of-the-art flat screen televisions and updated wall coverings and decor. The exterior will feature new awnings, lighting and updated signage.
