5 Nov - Starred Gala Dinner "Diner Etoilé"- Chef Daniel Hebet

For its third edition, the exquisite Starred Gala Dinner (Diner Etoile) proudly organised by Alliance Française Dubai welcome French Head Chef Daniel Hebet. Chef Hebet started in the industry at an early age in Paris and Anvers. In 1997, he travelled to Lima, Peru where he became the most famous French person. That's during this Peruvian year that his cuisine was freed from all shackles and his creations since then are a blend of flavours. In 1998, Hebet Daniel returned to France and settled down in Avignon, South East of France. Executive chef at La Mirande, Daniel Hebet earned his first Michelin star. In 2003, he joined Ladurée as a culinary consultant. Finally in April 2004, Daniel Hebet opened his restaurant "Le Jardin du Quai" at Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. Since then, Chef Hebet has been awarded on many occasions. Alliance Française Dubai is thrilled and proud to host the "Diner Etoilé" with Chef Daniel Hebet.

11 Nov - Rendez-Vous Cinema – 'Fool Circle' ("Tristesse club") - A French movie by Vincent Mariette, 2014

'Fool Circle' is a comedy-drama film starring Ludivine Sagnier, Laurent Lafitte and Vincent Macaigne. If you like treasure hunts, old Porsches, sisters who aren't sisters, fathers who aren't really dead, lakes and their secrets: welcome to the circle.

17 Nov - Exhibition and Book Launch - Kyra Dupont and Céline Maslard - 'My Fantastic Life in Dubai, The Oh-so True Story of Jumeirah Jane (The Ultimate Expat)'

Following the success of her first book release last year ('Pearls of the Emirates: Who Are These Women Behind the Veil?'), French-Swiss writer Kyra Dupont is launching her new work on November 10th 'My Fantastic Life in Dubai, The Oh-so True Story of Jumeirah Jane (The Ultimate Expat)'. In this comic strip book, Kyra Dupont focuses now on the UAE infamous Jumeirah Jane and other Sharjah Shelley. With simple drawings and English comments, she underlines the funny side of the privileged and often spoiled lives of the married expats. Alliance Française Dubai is a strong sponsor of this witty book which will definitely speak to many expat women. Pictures and drawings will be on display at the Alliance Française Dubai in Oud Metha.

16 Nov - Lecture - 'Democracy and Climate changes' A Conference by Cynthia Fleury, Professor at American University of Paris, Sciences Po and researcher of political philosophy

Professor Fleury is a Research Fellow and Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Government of The American University of Paris. Prolific author of books, collective works and key articles, Cynthia Fleury wrote about numerous topics such as religion, politics and education. Regularly invited on French media, she is no an inescapable consultant on political matters. Alliance Française Dubai is glad and honored to welcome Professor Fleury on November 16th ahead of COP21 to speak about governments attitude toward climate changes. Seeing the resume of Cynthia Fleury we expect not a classical report of scientific facts but an open minded analysis and a presentation of innovative ideas.

21 Nov - Jazz Concert - Laurent de Wilde Trio

Laurent De Wilde is a pianist with many facets. His latest album "Fly, Superfly" (2014) is a mix between the sound of the acoustic piano and computer technology. Yet it is accompanied by his departure trio, with which he won a Victoire de la Musique (French music award), that Laurent De Wilde will perform in Dubai. Since "Fly Superfly", concerts come one after another and the pianist shows that besides being a talented composer he is also a showman who delights audiences.
