ALL-NEW EPISODE SET TO AIR ON MARCH 3, 2016
NEW YORK (March 1, 2016) – Actress VIVIENNE JURADO wants justice on NBC’s newest crime-drama series, SHADES OF BLUE, in an all-new episode airing on March 3rd.
Shades of Blue follows Jennifer Lopez as Harlee Santos, a single-mother NYPD officer, who is forced to work in the FBI's anti-corruption task force out to take down her colleague Matt Wozniak (Ray Liotta). In the episode titled “Live Wire Act,” Jurado joins in the action as a Defense Lawyer looking to help her client Miguel Zepeda (Antonio Jaramillo) gain justice.
Jurado was thrilled with the opportunity to be part of this trailblazing show, adding “I want to thank Adi Hasak, the creator of Shades Of Blue, for casting me, a Latina actress, in a non-stereotypical role. They could have gone with a man or any other ethnicity, but everyone on the project was open to diverse possibilities. And, it’s so inspiring to see how Jennifer Lopez is opening doors for the Latina actress, both with her magnificent work in the role of Harlee and as an executive producer on the show.”
Up next, Jurado heads back to the stages of New York starring in Romanian-American playwright Dominca Radulescu’s ‘Exile Is My Home, An Immigrant Fairy Tale’, opening April 25th at Theater for the New City.
In addition, Jurado is always seeking ways to give back to the diverse artistic community, so she is hosting and producing the upcoming industry panel, The Right Agent for The Diverse Multicultural Talent, in New York on March 15th.
Originally from the Bronx, NY, at the age of 12 Jurado moved with her family to Puerto Rico. While there, she began training as an actress and model. This natural beauty won the FaceFinders of Puerto Rico talent pageant and eventually landed back in New York where she was quickly discovered by a leading modeling agency. She began working professionally in Miami, Barcelona and Madrid, while honing her acting skills with several New York theater companies. This led her to on-camera appearances in New York Undercover, Saturday Night Live and several celebrated indie projects, including the festival award-winning feature film, Dirty Shield.
Vivienne Jurado is represented by Andreadis Talent Agency.
