Bing Hu designing The Square, a 12,000-foot showpiece in Mesa Master-Planned Community
(PHOENIX) – It’s exciting—and rare—to find an internationally recognized architectural firm applying their expertise to an intimate, primary home community. “I’ve known the Harvard Investments team for years and really respect their work. When Craig [Krumwiede], Chris [Cacheris] and Tim [Brislin] told me about this idea— a community as spectacular as anything being built in Arizona, yet welcoming in price to a new homebuyer, I was intrigued. Designing something that’s best-in-class and appeals to young families, those with teens, empty nesters— pretty much everybody— without being cost-prohibitive— that’s an exciting idea! Arizona-based real estate investment and development company Harvard Investments, parent company The Hill Companies of western Canada, and GTIS Partners LP (“GTIS”), an international real estate private equity firm headquartered in New York City, are collaborating with premier architect Bing Hu of H&S International in designing The Square — a 12,000 square-foot community center set in a town-square style environment at the heart of Cadence at Gateway.

Hu’s projects have received dozens of international, national and regional design awards, including PCBC Gold Nugget Awards and Excellence in Masonry Architectural Awards. Bing has completed over 300 projects as founding principal of H&S International. He holds a graduate degree from Taliesin West, Frank Lloyd Wright’s prestigious School of Architecture in Scottsdale, Arizona.
